A newer and fresher Petra & Pilar has reopened its door in 2016. From the upscale “carinderia” concept of Chef Ed Quimson, it is now a lively casual restaurant that caters to events and after office hang-out place to nearby Makati City workforce.

Recently, the restaurant has launched their Barkada Boodle Bilao Menu perfect for office parties, get-together, and just about any other reason that may involve the need of good tasting food.

Petra & Pilar since it opened the first time in 2008 has always been on the top of my foodie list. But weirdly, I really never had the chance to visit the restaurant out. Having the image of “high-end” always pops into my cash-strapped self, deters me from travelling the long winding journey to Makati.

A Boodle however has always been the definition of togetherness, and camaraderie. Eating “kamayan” together, the concept has since transformed itself to just amongst military people to now something enjoyed by friends, families, and workmates alike.

The restaurant offers three kinds of mouthwatering Barkada Boodle Bilao menu.

Fiesta boodle – Pancit Habhab, Chicken Pork Adobo, Pork BBQ, Hilabos na hipon, Kropek, Garlic Rice, Pineapple Tomato salad in Crab Fat, Itlog na Maalat, and Saging Con Yelo.

Salu– Salo Boodle – Pancit Bihon, Chicken Wings, Inihaw na Liempo, Ensaladang Mangga with bagoong, Spicy Tahong, Kropek, Bagoong Rice, and Buko Pandan

Blowout Boodle – Pancit Canton, Fried Calamari, Breaded Porkchop, Chicken Inasal, Kropek, Crab Fat Rice, Ensaladang Talong with Bagoong, and Fresh Fruit.

Having the chance to taste every single item of every single boodle, what really stood out for me was their Pancit Habhab, Pineapple Tomato Salad in Crab Fat, Ensaladang Mangga, Spicy Tahong, and  Lumpiang Shanghai.

Still owned by the Enrile Family, situated in their own building, this gem of a restaurant offers quite satisfying and comforting delicacies close to our heart and to our tummy as well.

When visiting the restaurant, you should also drop by their Delimondo stand-alone store, which offers 5% discount to cash purchases.
