Achieving your fitness goals with your significant other is probably one of the things on your bucket list this year. And with Valentine’s day coming up, what better way to celebrate it by staying fit and slaying your goals with your significant other. Do something different from the usual gym date! Prepare your gym bag, fill-up your water jug, and go for a different type of sporty date to celebrate this special day together.

Here are some date ideas for you and your partner this Valentine’s day season:

  • Go for a trek or a hike:

With a P600- 1000 budget, you could go on an adventurous date and enjoy the view after a day of trekking. There are nearby mountains good for beginners around Batangas and Rizal.

  • Book a Bike Tour:

If you used to bike around your neighbourhood when you were younger, this activity will make you feel nostalgic. Bambike Ecotours offer bamboo bikes for rent, which were hand-made by the Gawad Kalinga villagers. You can go around Intramuros, BGC or Poblacion on these bikes. • Enrol in a new class together

Go someplace else other than the gym and try out a different studio that offers specialised fitness classes. And you’re in for a treat because there are some studios that offer discounts or promos this Valentine’s season such as Flyweight, an indoor boxing studio at the Fort, that offers 2 workouts for the price of 1 until Feb 15, and JNA Dance and Fitness Center, a dance-based studio at Shangri-La Plaza, that offers 2 for 1 yoga classes for the month of February. • Catch some waves

Take advantage of the long weekend and go surfing at La Union. If it is your first time surfing, do not worry, as there are instructors who can guide you first! Plus, there are so many activities in the area other than enjoying the beach during the daytime, as well as the nightlife later on. Just expect a lot of people because after all, it is a long weekend!

  • Engage in Outdoor Activities

If you want to try out a lot of different activities and want to go out of town for awhile, Sandbox at Alviera could be the perfect date for you two. They have all sorts of outdoor activities such as Arial Walk, Zipline, and more. Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen and an extra change of clothes!

  • Hit the Ice

If you are up to try something different, why not go Ice Skating? Skates are for rent at the ice skating rinks in Metro Manila such as SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia. Channel your inner Olympian and try to do some tricks you’ve always wanted to do, but with caution of course!

  • Target Bullseye

Channel your inner Hunger Games mode and try to hit bullseye. Do not be intimidated by the sport, as Gandiva Archery’s goal is to make it more accessible to everyone. Gandiva has a lot of different branches around the metro, so there might be one near you! Read more about Gandiva here: http://gandiva.com.ph/

  • Jump for Joy

If you’ve always wanted to be a gymnast, or maybe just enjoy watching, why not give it a try in an indoor trampoline park! Relatively new in our country, there are two parks to choose from: Trampoline Park at Greenfield District, and Jump Yard  at Frontera Verde Complex, Ortigas Drive. Be sure to have the proper grip socks, and follow the safety reminders! Read more: http://trampolinepark.ph/ and https://www.jumpyard.ph/

  • Strike up the fun together (or against each other!)

If you want something more laid back but still doing something sporty, try going bowling. You can have a little friendly competition against each other and see who scores the most. Usually, bowling alleys have bowling shoes for rent, so they got you covered! Just don’t forget to bring your own pair of socks.

  • Reach Great Heights Indoors
