Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

I made these cute Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles because who doesn’t like COOKIE DOUGH and CHOCOLATE!!

I fell in love with cookie dough when I tried my first pint of Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream! Always tempted to eat cookie dough but afraid of consuming raw egg and flour. In this recipe, there is no egg and I toast the flour just like when making Polvoron ( a Filipino snack made with toasted flour and milk powder). Cooking the flour adds a nice nutty flavor to the cookie dough.  I also add milk powder for an extra vanilla flavor to the recipe and creamy texture.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

Ingredients:

Cookie Dough:

½ C All Purpose Flour

½ C Unsalted Butter, room temp

¾ C Brown Sugar

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

2 tbsp Milk Powder

Pinch Salt

3 tbsp Milk

1 C Dark Chocolate

Topping:

1 Cup Dark Chocolate

Assortment of Sprinkles

Directions:

In a large pan, on medium heat cook the flour for 5 minutes or until its golden in color. Let cool.

Beat the butter and sugar together either in a mixer or with a wooden spoon until creamy. Add vanilla, salt, flour and milk powder mix until well combined. Add the Milk and mix until combined.

Make 1 tbsp balls of cookie dough and then refrigerate for 2 hours minimum.

Melt dark chocolate either in the microwave or a double boiler. If using a microwave, heat it on low heat for 30-45 second increments and then remove and stir. Repeat until melted.

Set up your work counter with the Cookie Dough, bowl of Chocolate, assorted sprinkles and a plate for the covered cookie dough. Take a cookie dough ball, coat in the chocolate and then add the sprinkles. Repeat until all is done.

Store the cookie dough truffles in the refrigerator in an air tight container until ready to give away. Place in a nice box or glass container and give away to your loved ones for Valentine’s Day.
