World Class Cocktails at Home - The Bahay

A constant source of inspiration to me is the house I grew up in. Looking back, the most striking memories for me involve walking around the kitchen and taking in the aromas and flavors of fresh ingredients and home-cooked meals.

A toast to our Philippine team in Diageo Reserve World Class, I take three ingredients that are distinctly Filipino – tamarind, pandan, and coconut, and turn them into a refreshing cocktail.

While Scotch isn’t typically served as cocktails, the bright flavors of our fresh ingredients perfectly complement the smokiness of the Johnnie Walker Double Black Label and Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve. If you’re new to Scotch, a well-balanced cocktail is just what you need to start your #LoveScotch journey.

For the syrup:

3 crushed tamarind
pandan leaves
1 cup of water
2 cup of sugar

30ml Johnnie Walker Gold
30ml Johnnie Double Black
22ml Dry vermouth
40ml fresh coconut water
30ml syurp

1. Bring the water to a simmer with the leaves and tamarind for about 10mins.
2. Add the sugar and dilute and cook at a simmer for 3 more minutes. Chill.
3. Mix all the ingredients together with ice and strain on ice in the coconut.
