PIG OUT DAY

Happy Monday to all of you who are either on a long extended weekend or are just enjoying a quiet work day. I just decided that every monday i will ask a suggestion from all of you of what i should cook on my next Pig Out Day (This could be the name of a dish, a story, a recipe, a picture…etc). The person who hits my craving on the head and gives me some fun inspiration for the dish will obviously be credited when i do the video recipe and post in the following week. So basically i’ll just post a question in the title, so that everyone has a certain direction to go on, orelse the suggestions would be endless!

For this week, the theme is:

  • PIG OUT DAY: Pie.

PS: i might give prizes to the person who gives me  idea/recipe/inspiration for the post! i’ll keep you posted on this. I’m just trying to figure out what a good present would be? Any Suggestions?

Not quite sure what kind of pie I’d make on a cheat day…. but for when you’re doing any other kind of pastry… I’d suggest a spotted dick any day… paired with a really good custard. Cannot go wrong there.

I would say Shepherd’s Pie definitely but the first commenter already suggested it, but definitely pie and meat together–would be great.

As for gifts and stuff, maybe GCs to healthy restaurants, supermarkets or Jamba Juice? haha you could start from there then go big later like a cutlery set or something =P

An upside down pineapple pie? Instead of a cake. You can use less sugar because of the sweetness/ sourness from the pineapple?

Egg pie! i would suggest it cause that’s my favourite pie. But because of too much egg, which is source of cholesterol, you can make a recipe with less egg and add some fruit on it to make it healthier.

Only one thing came in my mind… PIZZA!

I’m sure a lot could relate to loving pizza. Be it classic, specialty, thin or thick crust, conventionally baked or brick-oven baked. There’s just so many varieties and ways of baking it. I eat just about anything for as long as there’s hot sauce or pepper flakes. Love it spicy! But my top 2 personal favorites are Margherita and Hawaiian.

Would it be nice to create a home-made pizza? Now, that’s my challenge for you, Erwan. It would be interesting to know your own version, knowing that you always jazz up meals. So how about pizza this time? Just one suggestion (if it will fit your own pizza recipe), could you please add mushrooms? :)

Time to put your thinking cap on! Game! :)

Empanada is actually a pie and I’ve tried different versions of it locally and in other parts of the world. It is certainly part of our culinary heritage and different versions of it can be found in this country. It is savory and can certainly be prepared as a complete meal with proper proportion of carbs, protein and vegetables. Locally it is usually fried but I’ve also tried baked ones that are just as delicious with much lower fat content.

about THE FAT KID

I gained weight because of a sedentary lifestyle and overly indulging in foods I knew were bad for me, eating out too often, taking the easy route (microwavable dishes) and not caring what went in my body, before I knew it reached 240 lbs. I lost weight through pure dedication, tireless hours of hard work and yes, food. I cooked my way to fitness, making sure to only feed myself tasty well prepared dishes with all the right stuff, the perfect fuel, taking me down to 150lbs. Of course I indulge from time to time, as the fat kid still lurks inside of me; here you will find a little bit of everything for the sole purpose of sharing my passion for food and life.
