Holiday Food: Smoked Salmon, Toast, Stewed Cabbage

P1130454

During this time of year, everything gets a little hectic. People seem to plan gettogethers and dinners on the same days, as if there were some higher cynical power beckoning them to make your commitments fall on the same exact hours and leave you wanting to live in an 80s movie where the protagonist manages to create a cloning device that will eventually break right before the credits, with a moral lesson, lecturing that only God has the power of procreation.

To save you from insanity or maybe just to help lessen the hair pulling a little, i will be posting quick, easy and “festive” looking dishes, to be shared amongst friends, whether you are bringing something along for a pot luck dinner or if you are hosting one at home.

Here is my fast “dressed” smoked salmon. Showing you that minimal attention and effort can produce something worthy of any thanksgiving spread.

about THE FAT KID

I gained weight because of a sedentary lifestyle and overly indulging in foods I knew were bad for me, eating out too often, taking the easy route (microwavable dishes) and not caring what went in my body, before I knew it reached 240 lbs. I lost weight through pure dedication, tireless hours of hard work and yes, food. I cooked my way to fitness, making sure to only feed myself tasty well prepared dishes with all the right stuff, the perfect fuel, taking me down to 150lbs. Of course I indulge from time to time, as the fat kid still lurks inside of me; here you will find a little bit of everything for the sole purpose of sharing my passion for food and life.
